Description

The Registered Nurse Team Lead for 3E (Med/Surg) and Intensive Care Unit is the clinical leader in both departments and facilitates the day-to-day clinical operations in collaboration with the Patient Care Manager and the Interdisciplinary Team, patients and families.

The Registered Nurse Team Lead will provide clinical leadership to achieve exemplary care of patients and families in the medical / surgical unit and ICU, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and collaborating with various departments to ensure patient care is provided at the highest standard With the RN Team Lead position, you will work to create a positive patient and family centered environment, play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of the unit, supporting staff development, quality improvement initiatives, and maintaining a safe, compassionate environment for both patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Certification in BCLS, ACLS, IV Therapy and Blood Glucose Monitoring
  • Demonstrated skill in critical thinking and problem solving those results in expected outcomes
  • Demonstrated well-developed verbal and written communications skills and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated competency in the skills of mediation, facilitation, negotiation, and delegation
  • Demonstrated sound understanding of the Principles of Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Ability to function independently as a Registered Nurse on a Medical/Surgical Unit, preferred ability to function independently as a Registered Nurse in ICU
  • Evidence of personal and professional growth through continuing education
  • Reliable attendance record
  • Minimum of 3 years working in an acute Medical/Surgical setting
  • Preferred competency in wound care
